Introduction
Restores can be done in two ways, either automatically or by downloading. Neither overrides any existing data and can be used to review and compare.
IMPORTANT
All restores create a new entry in your Trello account.
Individual restoration
Step 1
Navigate to the left menu and select Trello under Your Protected Applications.
Step 2
Find your chosen backup and select View.
Step 3
Review which restore point you want and select Restore.
Alternatively, if you wish to keep a download of your item, select Download .ZIP.
NOTE
The Zip will contain a .git and various .json files (for the appropriate metadata). It is your responsibility what you do with this.
Step 4
At the modal, review the details of the backup.
The item will by default share the same name but with Restored clearly identifiable at the end. You also have the option to rename it entirely under Restored item name.
Additionally, you can add multiple email address for notification receipts under Send notification to…
Step 5
Once you have confirmed the details, select Restore. Finally, select Continue.
Step 6
Go to your Trello account to confirm the successful restoration. Your restore will be in the same directory as the original.
Bulk restoration
Step 1
Navigate to the left menu and select Trello under Your Protected Applications.
Step 2
On the left hand side, use the tick boxes for all the items you want to restore. You can also select Select all. This will select all items per pagination.
When you are ready, select Restore.
Step 3
Select the Restore to… menu to chose your restore points for each item.
In addition, you have the option to rename the item. By default it will be the same name with restored added at the end.
NOTE
At the new restore page you can add additional items by selecting + Add board.
There is no download option in this view. If you want the Zip file, you must view the item individually.
Step 4
When you are ready, select Continue.
Step 5
You must confirm each item’s action using the right hand side Confirmed? Menu.
Optionally, if you want to send a notification of this action to multiple addresses, use the Send notification to… area below.
Step 6
When you are ready, select Restore.
You can confirm your restore in your Trello account under their designated names.
